German Fusion Industry Positions Itself for Fusion – Pro-Fusion Association Founded

Nuremberg, Germany - On June 6, 2024, representatives from renowned German companies in the field of fusion energy met in Nuremberg and founded the industrial association Pro-Fusion.

After many years of fusion research, the commercial use of fusion for energy production is technologically within reach, offering significant advantages for the environment, society and the economy. The founding members, Bilfinger Nuclear & Energy Transition GmbH, Focused Energy GmbH, Framatome GmbH, MAN Energy Solutions SE, Marvel Fusion GmbH, pro-beam GmbH & Co. KGaA, Proxima Fusion GmbH c/o Werk1 Bayern GmbH, ProZukunft GmbH, RI Research Instruments GmbH, Rolf Kind GmbH, Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG, Thiele Technologie & Management GmbH and the German Fusion Industrial Liaison Officer, are convinced of this.

Pro-Fusion is the central representative body for the German industry in commercial fusion energy and will address challenges in shaping public opinion, engaging political stakeholders and adapting legal regulations.

Pro-Fusion aims to

  • sustainably shape public opinion on fusion energy,
  • serve as a point of contact for politics and media on all fusion energy topics, and
  • contribute to the further development and structuring of the economic fusion ecosystem.
